please read....is something wrong with my grey

My grey gets off his cage and will walk around on the floor he puts his beak on the ground and stands on 1 foot and kicks his other back and forth as if he is a bull getting ready to charge. He will switch and do it to the other leg. He does not rub it on the ground he leaves it in the air while he is kicking it back and forth. What is he doing? He is doing it a lot!

Sounds like he stretching to me. My Miligold does the same thing and will most times roll over on her back and just lay there. Silly little birds. My Yellow Collared loves to be on the floor. Its the only time she really uses her words and talks. She likes to take her beak and rub it back and forth on the carpet. I don't think you have too much to worry about.

My grey does that too. He likes to push his beak up against my leg or foot, or in a corner of something, and then scratch away like a chicken. When he was younger, he used to do this in the bottom corner of his cage all the time. Now he just does it when he's out of his cage, on the floor. He really likes to scratch away on the carpet, LOL!

He is trying to start his scooter!

This is something just about all Greys do, particularly younger ones. They can spend several minutes at a time doing it. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal behaviour

I think Greys are natural 'floor walkers'. If I leave mine out he will sit on top of his cage and hang out. If I leave the room for any amount of time and come back...he is on the floor. While on the floor he explores, forrages etc. I don't leave him there because I have a big dog and don't want any issues. But I truly think yours is exibiting normal 'floor walking' behaviour. If he's healthy..don't sweat it.

he is really scratching the carpet, he does it in the air. I didnt think there was anything wrong with him was just wondering as I have only had a him for a couple of mths and he never ceases to amaze me at what he thinks of next. He has always crawled around on his cage and down the leg, his treats are down there, but today is the first time that he actually got off his cage and walked around. he enjoyed himself so much. Now he is sleeping, it all wore him out!

it is 100% normal behavior. He 's not scratching the carpet because he will get his nails caught. thats the reason for his air scratching.

Chico is 13 and still does this :) it's super cute, I like to grab his little toes when he kicks them back. I don't know what causes it, they do some ground feeding in the wild don't they? So I wonder if it has something to do with that.
