I know he will be fine. It is frightening and I am sure that the grey group will give you a lot of support. Try to stay calm so that he does not get nervous. You now how it is with kids, if they see their parronts freaking out they start to do the same thing.

You are taking him to Dr. Mohan. He is my vet too. He is the best around. Does only birds.

I hope all turns out well.

How did it happen?

Does anyone know how to prevent this? I know occasionally you need to have their beaks trimmed. How often should that be done? Would that prevent breakage?

That looks like a blood clot, not a vein.

The vet that I took him to that could help said it's the quick.

Edit: Would a blood clot be very bad?

The quick is definitely exposed as evidenced by the blood. The part that is hanging though looks like a blood clot.

The clot is stopping it from bleeding more.

Assuming the vet cleaned the blood off, was there still something hanging? Did they do anything to help stop the bleeding?

The vet didn't clean anything off or even try to help stop the bleeding. We cleaned it off before the vet with peroxide.

He just got back, and they didn't do anything. I am so angry. They gave him a shot for the pain and said bye. I don't know what to do now.
