From reading the previous posts it seems that it is not un-heard of. If you are taking him to an avian vet he must be able to give you a good recommendation on what you need to do. Sometimes we have to rely on these experts to tell us what is best.

Even when we, as humans, go for surgery they tell us all these things that can happen.
They have to do this to protect themselves.

I cannot even imagine what you are going through, but I would like to believe that would this happen to one of my babies I would be able to rely on my vet to tell me what would be the best for mine.

You baby is probably more worried about you!

your upset and nervous. thats to be expected. We would all be feeling the same if it was ours. So your thoughts are completely normal.
asulli is right on with saying your vet will recommend what the best options are being they have dealt with it before(again, importance on being certified)
and we have to rely on their expertise to get us through.

but yes, he knows your upset, and that will upset him more. Deep Breath....try to relax. We're here for support and only want the best for you both.

havent heard anything. I know she had to drive a distance to get to the vet, so maybe thats where we stand.

Hey everyone,

I saw everyone was getting nervous, and I apologize for not updating you. The vet said that right now since he is eating and drinking on his own to give it a couple of days to let him calm down. It has healed a little more, and right now he is OK. It is still going to be removed but we wanted him to get a little less stressed. I want to thank everyone for your help, and kind words. When I have some more info I will update you all. :) I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's help. I can now breath a huge sigh of relief, he is going to be OK.
