I went to say good night to the birds, when Sammy bent down its head for a scratch. Sammy has never wanted to be pet, or touched in any way. I have had Sammy for a little over a year now. This bird was abused by the former owner to the point that even my vet didnt think I could get it to do any thing but sit in the cage. But then came Dexter, Sammy has seen how Dexter gets all kinds of attention, cuddles, scratches, ect. Sammy has even let me feed warm oatmeal with applesauce in it to him. This is such a break through.

Now I have to give a head scrtath every time I walk by Sammy`s cage. I hope he does it when my husband is home to watch.

How wonderful that he is beginning to open up. It is always wonderful when they do that. Sometimes it takes awhile. Congratulations to both of you!

By Sammy seeing what your doing with Dexter. He realized your not Evil. And accepted you. That's is awesome. Taking that same theory with My guys. Have contibuted to my issues with Jack. He has made awesome leaps and bounds with his behavior.

Patti I am Glad Potter has turned around as well. I was wondering how he is doing.

I can now do a 5 finger scratch on the back of the neck. Sammy also comes running when he sees the Dexter feeding about to start, no way is this bird going to miss out on a good thing.
