Which feed is the best?

There are so many products out there and I was wondering is the Harrison pellets or the Zupreen feed better? I am trying out the Zupreen and mixing it into my Amazon's seed diet along with veg. and fruits. He really likes it now he has some fruity stinky breath. No really I would like to know everyones opinion on these 2 feeds.

Thanks

I'm still looking for a reply. I started using Zupreen and my amazon is so much more active and happy. Another thing I noticed is his feathers are starting to glisten. I must be doing something right.
Here is a bump so maybe I'll get some replies.

I am a pellet person. Especially with Amazons. Supplement with TONS of fresh fruit and veggies - rice, beans, hot peppers - there are a lot of good cookables out there. Zupreem is a great pellet - especially the Naturals. Stay away from sunflower seeds and IMHO seeds altogether. This is very controversial, but I've heard personally of way too many birds who have died due to a seed diet. And I am not an expert. Just have had birds all my life (and I'm OLD!!) :)

P.S. Organic flax seeds are about the only seeds I would do...

I feed Ollie Zupreem as a base diet- but she also gets tons of other stuff. I tried Harrison's and she wouldn't touch it. Zupreem seems to be a pellet that most parrots will eat.

Zupreem it is. My new grey is being weaned as I speak and they are starting him on Zupreem too. I like that idea since I've already have some here at the house. I didn't know that the seed diet was so bad for them. I've switched over to a pellet diet and Emmott is eating just fine. He is much happier too I've noticed. Even late last night when he was supposed to be sleeping I caught him eating. He can't get enough of Zupreem. It smells really good too.

My bfa loves the Zupreem fruit blend. I've bought the other Zupreem blends, but the beige pellets will only be eaten when she's absolutely desperate.

Actually, when you open up a new bag of the fruit Zupreem, it smells so much like a new bag of Twizzlers, it's all I can do not to try it out and see how it tastes.

Ok, ok, I'll admit it! In the interest of science (and the well being of my fids) I actually tasted a Zupreem fruit blend pellet. The verdict: It smells a lot better than it tastes!

Food is a very individual thing. My 5 Amazons were on Harrisons. Four of them did very good, but one of them just doesn't do well on them. It causes him to drink too much water.

How do you know that you are feeding your bird what he needs? Birds need a yearly well-bird check. From there your vet can tell you if the bird needs more calcium, Vitiam A, etc. The trick is to balance their diet with the results you get from a blood test. A variety is probably the best bet. Some pellets, some fruits, lots of veggies, some nuts and some seeds. Avoid foods with a lot of salt and fats or artificial colorings and flavors.
