Nothing seems to phase my 11 yo yfa-I can drop a book, a door can slam, she's very calm and doesn't react or freak over anything EXCEPT if I change ANYTHING about myself. Then she refuses to accept holding or touching until I change back. She will growl, run and if I push, she'll bite. Things like a change of lipstick color, new piece of jewelry, new item of clothing she's never seen, wearing shoes in the house (when I normally don't). I've done all the usual - introduce her to the new item, let her see me put it on, let her see me change my clothes, etc. etc. and nothing seems to work. Anything mostly white (like t-shirts) are ok even when new. She has her standards, and I can hold her again when I change back, thank you very much, and not until. Some clothing items she will never accept no matter how many times I wear them. She acts like I'm traumatizing her worse than the vet does. I'm wondering if she's not being a bit of a drama queen (something she would have apparently had to have picked up from her father...) She knows it is me... she is just being ornery I feel. I can change anything about her surroundings, though, and she'd hardly give it a second thought. Actually, she's amused when I change her suroundings. She is SO picky.... Do I just live with it and accept her terms? I mean, it is not like I spoil her or anything....

Is this common?
