Everyone Please Welcome - Joanie Doss to our "Ask The Experts Staff"
Joanie Doss (Amazon Expert)
Joanie Doss has been writing about parrots and Amazons since 1989. Her articles have appeared in all the leading bird magazines such as Bird Talk, Parrot Talk, Bird World, Caged Bird, The Original Flying Machine, etc. She has many articles on the internet as well. Joanie has a troupe of performing Amazons called The Amazing Amazons. They would do a 45 minute performance and then held by as many as 250 people per bird. She has two books on body language and is now working on her third. This book will be on training. Birdboard is delighted to add her to our team of experts. ================================= Introduction Anyone that knows me, knows of my deep love for Amazon parrots. I feel they are wonderful companions and so often misunderstood. They are smart, beautiful, funny, amusing, charmers, great talkers and singers. What I enjoy most about Amazons is their love of life. Amazons are the "drama queens" of the bird world. Perhaps this is why so many are fond of opera. Amazons love food and love music. I hope that I can help you have a better relationship with your fantastic Amazon. Joanie Doss http://www.parrothouse.com/jdoss.html email: amazing-amazons@charter.net |

Joanie,
Welcome to the board! I'm SO EXCITED you're here! I've adopted a 22y/o Mealy Amazon back in September....he's been doing really well (until the recent "hormonal" issues). He's my first extended experience with a large bird (I've opened my home temporarily to displaced large birds before) and my first real experience with Amazons. Thank you for joining us here!!
