There is a story behind this so please bear with me.
I am the LAB part of my username my names Lianne, JAB is Jason my fiance. Okay now that we have that taken care of. Jasons mom has a Yellow naped amazon named Libby. She just recently moved into an apartment complex that doesn't allow pets so she was in search of a new home for Libby. Jason and I decided since we actually live really close to his moms new apartment that we would take Libby so that way his mom could visit her anytime and you know still feel close to her and not so far away etc. Anyways what I was wondering is if there is anything that we need to do to you know be prepared for when we finally get Libby. We do know they are on the noisy side because we lived with his mom for a few months and Libby would be screaming away not for long but long enough to be loud. We also know she can be nippy and agressive at times because if one of us got too close to his mom Libby would nip at her hand because Libby probably felt jealous. We know she was agressive because she once chased his moms ex boyfriend around the house (funny site you had to be there) So anyway sorry for digressing. I just want to be prepared and make the transition from one home to another to not be a stressfull one. We have a spot all ready for her cage to go and our living room is big enough for her playstand and everything but is there anything we either need to buy or have on hand to make things easier? To see pictures of Libby you can visit his moms website @ Home of Gonzo Libby is near the middle of the page on the left hand side next to a tie-dye blanket. His moms going to talk everything over with us and keep the food supplied and toys as well but as I said I just wanted to know if there was anything we should have on hand before we actually get her into our place. Any advice would be absolutely wonderful. Thank you for reading sorry so long.

I've never had an Amazon but everything you said about Libbie sounds like very typical Amazon stories. I have a friend whose Amazon hated his girlfriend and would chase her away. It worked too because the woman was scared of him.
Libby nipping at Jason's mother's hand may have been meant as a warning. Parrots will often bite another parrot to alert him/her if they perceive danger. With another parrot it's just a mouth full of feathers but with us it's a mouth full of skin. It tends to hurt a lot more. It may take a couple of months for Libby to settle into her new home and begin bonding with you. I hear that is typical of most parrots too.

A lot of bird people are fish people. I have a 15 gallon mini-reef tank and only hold back on going larger or adding another tank because I don't have the space.
Thanks for the pic of Libby. She is a pretty bird.
