Talking Pepper is coming home!

Hi, I'm fairly new to BirdBoard.com but wanted to share my excitement with others. I had adopted Pepper from the wildlife refuge in Key West FL in 2004 when his mom and dad moved into a retirement home and could not take him with them. At that time Pepper was 24 years old. My husband and I had done volunteer work at the refuge and when Pepper came to them, he would not go to any of the people that worked there. The manager called me and asked if I could come by to see Pepper. Love at first sight! He stepped up and into my heart. Pepper traveled with my husband and I via boat to MX and then to the Chesapeake Bay where we sold the boat and may the decision to live in Thailand. We went through the Thai embassy and actually obtained Pepper a "birdie passport". We went through quarantine and two days before we departed, we contacted the Bangkok airport to have a vet meet us. We were informed that if we brought him with us he would be euthanized upon arrival. We were fortunate that we located a wonderful person in North Bend WA who took Pepper in for us (this was in Dec 2005). Long story short, he will be coming home to me within the next two weeks. We have since moved back stateside and have settled in TN. We will be leaving and driving to North Bend to pick up Pepper and bring him home. Thank you for reading and listening re:my boy coming home!

It is good that the people that have him are willing to let you have him.
I was keeping my Joey for a breeder and two years later she finds a mate. I begged I cried I offered her the sun. She let me buy him. lol
Hope to see new pictures soon.

It seems I may have posted this in the wrong place. My apologies. I'm new! :-) The lady who has him actually rescues birds, fish, etc and normally tries to re-home them. She stated that she knew my husband and I would be back for Pepper as it was devastating for us to leave him behind.
I will have so many pictures of him and of Zazu, another amazon that my husband and I adopted (for a fee) from a lady in St. Louis who was not able to take care of him as a result of illness.
I am glad that you were able to at least buy Joey back! I know that I will never again leave Pepper with another person, if he can't come with us, we do not go! lol
