...they want to keep the nest clean...my 'tiel does that when she sits eggs...
...I don't know that they'll defecate in the water dish or other bowls on purpose, or whether it's personal preference...

Amazons who keep theri nests clean
Hi,
Congratulations on having fastidious Lilac crowns who are clean and neat. You are very lucky. We have have had some that squirt outside the flight. That makes for a real mess.
