Lilac Crowned Amazon sub Species

Any one Know the differance between the Lilac Crowned Amazon and the Wood's Lilac Crowned Amazons? I have seen a picture of a Wood's Lilac crown that looks much more like mine than most Lilac's. Is there A size differance? most say the lilac Crowns are small? mine are about the same size as My Grays (is that small?) ConFused??

There are a few types of amazons that are confused as lilac crowns that are less common types of amazons kept. Do you have a picture?

Also, like with blue fronted amazons, the place where the wild caught birds came from can make a difference with size.

EDIT **Some people confuse Red Lored Amazons with Lilac Crowed Amazons. If you look at them, the head is a different color and the beaks are different. Lilac Crowns have a horn colored beak and Red Lored have a black lower beak and a horn/black upper beak.

Newly adopted LCA

It's been a long time since I posted, but since then,I had my BFA, Pepe, die from liver cancer (unexpected since health checked yearly, and no signs of it), three and a half months ago. One month ago, I was informed of a Lilac Crown needing a home. It was love at first sight. She is just the sweetest little girl. She's a bit skittish when it comes to hands, esp. over her. She let me skritch her from day two. After a few weeks, when I come home from work, she steps up on my hand, and prefers to stay on my hand instead of going back on her perch or cage. And she's been grooming my beard and mustache every day.
As much as my Pepe and I loved each other, I didn't think I'ld find another to be as close to, and then the Lord brought Skippy my way. What a blessing. I will always get choked up when thinking of my Pepe. Pepe was a second homed (probably more), and so is Skippy.

Wally:

Well, you know what they say, "the lord giveth and the lord taketh away". There is always a bird in need of a good and loving home. I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet pet.

Ah yes, if it wasn't for Him, we wouldn't have such marvelous creatures to share our lives with. I am fortunate that the Lord gaveth, He tooketh away, and then gaveth again... Although a little of an emotional roller coaster! Wally
