Aren't they just wonderful? I'd love to get a baby Mealy one day. Hermes is really beautiful.

I am foofighters girlfriend, so his mealy's are also my mealy's :) I am talking about Hercules when I say he is mischievious, and he is not distructive, but he is a determined little guy, and when he wants something he will try to find an inventive way to get to it, he thinks he is sneaky :) But I think all amazons are.... I also have a diary that I have kept on my senegal(Athena), mealy(Hercules) and now the new mealy(Hermes) Here is the link

Hermes head color is pretty much up for grabs right now....being that no one seems to know exactly what sub-species he is....Hercules head will get more colorful with age, as in more yellow and red. Both mealy's are currently about the same size, since Hermes is only a few month's old he may end up a bit bigger then Hercules. Hermes is thicker then Hercules. Hercules has big long feet while Hermes has shorter yet wider feet. So we will have to wait and see. We will get a picture of them together soon :)

I have done tons and tons of reading on the mealy and am always looking for more info, just seems to not be enough on the mealy.

LOL, baby eyes get me everytime also!! I swear I should not be allowed into

Funny story, As these 2 were perching together,Hermes decided to fly off the stand, when he landed on the floor Hercules tilts his head and says" what are you doing?" LOL perfect timing on both, everyone in the store was laughing. Hercules is such a ham.

They are really something! It is so facinating to see the various types within a species. Kind of a family resemblence but not entirely. Great picks & pics - even the blurry ones! I love doing research - if I see something I'll post it & hope its new for you.

I'm looking foreward to more stories of their interaction. I bet their colouring is even better outside - do you/ will you both be taking them ouside?

Thanks for clearing up the ownership thing! You're blessed to both like birds. I recently acquired a little budgie & my husband is very sweet with him - I'm so relieved. I was a little afraid to bring home anything bigger & cause discord. Although my guy is tiny he's fun too.

Well here's the latest, the other owner of the 2 Mealys decided not to buy him, he was in the store while someone was running a vacume and he found out how loud an amazon can be..hehehe.

Since he is going through a divorce right now, he thinks he is going to end up in an apartment and a amazon is way to loud for that, so we bought Hermes brother....lol.
The named him Franky, but we changed his name to Helios. He is a pic of the 2 of them, Helios is on the right.
