Say Hello to HERMES

Just dropped by to introduce our new Mealy to the family.
This is Hermes, we just bought him the other day, hopefully he'll be home with us in a few weeks.

He has a brother in the store also and got a chance to meet his owner who lives in the area and we exchanged emails and have been keeping each other updated with photos and things. Maybe in the future sometime the brothers can get together to hang out or maybe even some bird sitting.

Heres a pic of the 2 of us at the counter emptying my wallet...lol

I had to re-do my webpage, but I messed it up so I started over, with all new pics and all new home movies of our birds, in a few days I will have more on it for sure. Heres the link. Keep ya posted CYA

OH how cute is that!!!! Congratulations on the new baby!! Loved the pics, and your babies names. The background looks like Todd's, is it? I've seen lots of photos of babies from that store. LOL

Fun pictures & videos - the Sennie is pretty cute too. I think they're all quite handsome. Very sweet climbing misadventure video!

Can you tell me why you chose a Mealy & then another? You must really like them. So tell us why.

Thanks for all the compliments. Yes those pics are from Todds.
I had my eyes on a Yellow Nape, but then these 2 came in and we were drawn to these 2, our Chapman Mealy is such a great bird and has a great personality we couldn't resist getting another. After seeing these 2 they didn't look anything like our Mealy, and the person in the store really didn't know, so we did some research on it and we believe this one is a subspecies of the Mealy and we think its a Costa Rican Mealy, I'm sure the owner would know cause she seems to know the species very well
They also said the have a blue-crown mealy coming in this week at Todds

I can honestly say that my mealy is my sweety....he is very mischievious and very playful but he loves to give me kisses so that he can get praises and he loves "saying" things with me.

To me he is the perfect mixture of all the qualities in a bird that I am looking for...he likes to cuddle, play, and is nice and big....and isnt one of the "hot three" that everyone warns me about. So for me getting another mealy was a no brainer and I would get yet another over most birds hands down, but that is only my opinion in what I am looking for in a birdie companion :)

Demeter - How old is your Mealy? You say, "he is very mischievious" - does that also mean he can be distructive? How is he mischievious? What type of Mealy do you have? Maybe a photo???

F00FIGHTER - I had to do a little research on the Mealy. I am unfamiliar with them (& most Amazons). Will the blue on top of the head get bigger with age, like with the yellow napped & the blue? Are both of your birds the same size? It will be great to see them together, once you've gotten thru all the waiting (store + quarantine). So I hope to see photos.
