Here he is!!

Finally home!
Sorry to keep you guys waiting - but here he is!
He is such a sweet old guy! He ate snacks from my hand on the car trip home, and then fell asleep nestled in the shredded paper. After a 6 hours on a plane with one connection and then a 2 hr car ride - he was tuckered out! But so pleasant - he just mumbled a little bit - overall very quiet.

When we got home and he was safely in his cage I gave him rice and beans. I don't think he has had much home cookin before - he hardly came up for air!

I hated tucking him in - for I just wanted to look at him all night! But I did - and greeted him this morning with warm bananas/oatmeal/raisins and a little soy milk. He's liking the special treatment!

I'm hoping to give him a bath soon - as he looks like it's been awhile - but one step at a time. Speaking of which - he does move kinda slow. He's missing the tips of 2 toes on his right foot, and has arthritis. But he perches just fine, and can climb around the cage too. Tonight I am making him a birdie bunk so he can rest his legs if he wants.

I am so happy to finally have him home! He is everything I thought he would be - and more! I'll post more later!

He is VERY pretty especially for a senior psittacine. I love the cage, by the way. May I ask how much and who from?

Thank you everyone! I think he's rather handsome too!
The cage came from Bird Cages Plus - It's the "Palazzo" and it was $349- I think.
Tonight I had him eating out of my hand again. I just sat there in front with the door wide open and a palm full of good seed and nuts. He would very slowly lean over and pick threw the pile. He will take sunflower seeds from my fingers too. I am very encouraged by that! He hasn't lunged out to bite at all. He's just really mellow.
Before I tucked him in tonight I sat there talking to him, and telling him about our family. When I would stop talking for a few seconds he would let out a little screech - as if to say "tell me more". It was so cute! We kept this conversation going for quite awhile and then it was lights out for him.

Overall he had a great first day I think!
