Did you ever get the info you needed?

I don't know a whole lot, but I've found some information since I bought my Tucuman earlier this year. I've found three or so breeders that indicate they breed Tucumans. There is some good information on the site for R&B Aviaries as they have a breeding program for Tucumans, though they do not offer them for sale. Here is the link: www.rbaviary.com

There is no limit to sale or ownership within the United States, they just cannot be imported anymore. They are still very limited in the U.S. and apparently males outnumber females so you don't see many females for sale. Nobody seems to have much information as to how they are as pets since so few are pets. I know my male is pretty obnoxious, but he was in a breeding situation before I bought him.

Hope this help.

Thanks for the information.

Our male is a great little bird.
I was told he was mean and very aggressive.
but they were so wrong.he just wanted some attention.
He now goes to schools with us to show the children when we go in to help when they are learning about schools.

it saddens me that there is not another one so he would have a friend of his own specie.
he has buddied up with a redlord amazon that is close to his age.

but he is such a great bird.........thanks donna
