what are panamas like?

I am thinking about getting a Panama zon.

Having heard that many amazons are very tempermental, is it true that Panamanians are a little more predictable?

How can one tell the difference between a panama and other amazons that resemble each other? Is the beak color the only give away?

I've had a triton for 4 years so I think I understand the word "loud". My triton is very predictable so far. Could anyone give me a comparison between an amazon and a cockatoo? Are they similar / different in any ways?

Thank you in advance.

Pananma

Here is an article about variations on Panamas
amazonasociety.org - Articles - Variation in Panama Amazons

We have a male thats been in the family for 28 years. He was wild caught by may inlaws as a baby in Panama and brought to the US leagally in 1980. He is a pistol. He is very predictable, he either likes someone or he wants to kill them and once he makes his mind up thats it. He is a great bird and I dont think you could go wrong with one. Here he is with his little brother Romeo the U2

Thank you very much

Thank you for the directing me to a great site. As I suspected a lot of the descriptions on many of the other sites are rather iffy but the site you provided is excellent.

I was amazed to see the number of Amazon species. I had no idea there were over 70 species and not suprisingly, many look alike. LOL

Anyway thank you once again.
