I'm not expert, but s/he looks like all the other yellow crowned amazon's on Google.

What makes you think s/he isn't?

I saw the Panama Amazon and the differences are not really clear to me, i never heard of the Panama before. I looked at some websites and googled pics of the YCA & the PA and she looks like both or the pics are not really clear. One thing she is not mellow, easy going or pleasant. So i figured i ask.

looking at the picture i would say you have a yellow crowned ......
she is to pale to be a panama ......, panamas are smaller and a darker shade of green..
the bird in the picture looks to be big built in comparison with the panamas i have seen
also another point to mention is that your birds beak is not pale enough (fleshy toned) to be a panama as your birds beak while having flesh in color also has the typical darker patch right down the middle of the beak that yellow crowned have ;)

hope this helps

Yes I would say the same. From the Panamas Ive had here they are much more ...green? And the horn color tends to go all the way down the sides of the beak and the ones Ive seen (they were young birds) the yellow patch is more narrow(er) like a stripe down the middle of the forehead. Ill have to go back and look but I dont remember as big of eye rings either......

Here is a web cam of a Panama that was at my house. I sit for the breeder sometimes. If you get to see her ,lol. She isnt always in the camera.

You most certainly have a Yellow Crown. We have one, also and he is a hoot!!! Has quite the personality and is very outgoing. Ours is 8 years old and is full of energy [except when he is cuddling with my wife]. When he talks, he talks well, and uses his words properly.
