Nest box question

I have a 14 year old female DYH. (probably female) We are so close, she is amazing.
I've noticed that she gets SO excited when i open a dresser drawer or a kitchen cabinet and when i put her in there she makes all these squealing and crazy noises. I this she wants to nest.
If I were to get her a nest box, would there be any effects in her behavior? Would she lay eggs? I don't really want to breed her because she is a pet and i adore her as she is.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

We put up a nestbox for our double yellow and yellow nape pair who are inseparable. Within three weeks after putting up the nestbox, we had an egg. It's an incredible experience.

Does your bird bond \ mate with another bird? If not, she may lay eggs that are clear and waste her time and effort.

If she gets nesty she quite well will get aggressive of the nest and you dont want that at all. if you dont want her getting nesty and aggressive then you need to NOT give her nesty places to hide and shorten her daylight where possible to about 10 hours. Give her some new toys and dont give in to her desire to nest. Zons get quite possessive and aggressive of the nest area fertile or not plus the more you encourage egg laying the more you risk serious egg binding issues and calcium depletion. If you dont intend to breed, dont encourage any breeding behavior. :)
