Yes... watch the most important thing is too watch their eyes! I have two pacific parrotlets (basically mini amazons) and you can tell what they are going to do next pretty easily if you are looking for certain signs!
Good luck with Cosmo Post some pictures too... we wanna see :D

Just wanted to know how Cosmo is doing? I adopted an amazon about a month ago and she is progressing, still scared of our hands. I am sure in time that will change. Please keep us updated on your new baby.

He is doing really, really well. Today he actually took food from my hand for the first time! I was so excited, since I've only had him for 4 or 5 days. That seemed like a really big deal to me.
He also had his first shower today! The folks who had him never gave him a bath. I watched him bathe in his tiny water bowl yesterday, and just knew he needed something better than that. We bought him his own spray bottle, and gave him a good shower. We weren't sure if he'd be scared or what, but he LOVED it! It was so precious. He wasn't totally relaxed while he showered, but he definitely enjoyed it. Before long he'll be as relaxed as can be and singing in the shower I think! I don't think it will be long until I can start the step-up training. For now Cosmo is a very gentle boy, and has shown absolutely no aggression whatsoever. I know that may change, but for now I feel fortunate. Have you started step-up training yet? I'm trying to decide how soon I'll be able to get him out of his cage. I want him out and about with me! But I also want to go at his speed, and not do anything that intimidates him. He's really good about letting us know how far is too far, and you can tell when something scares him.
