They are so cute, they look good. How much would you pay for a bird like that in a pet store there... just curious. I dont agree with the way they came to be in the pet store, but like you said its diferent there. Its just ashame because its for reasons like this that there are so many endangered species of parrots left in the wild. But theyre adorable.

Kelly, you get a parrot here for about $350 Trinidad and Tobago dollars....which equals out to be roughly $55 US dollars.....crazy isn't it....let me tell you .....I really appreciate what I have cause I know that back home in the states they don't come cheap...:)

Thats crazy, have you seen the prices in Australia? There was a posting from "Matches"? I think it was breaking down the price of birds there and OMG. Made me feel like I was living with four cages filled of GOLD. LOL

I was wondering if anyone would notice the orange....course it really stands out now....couldn't tell at all up to about 2 weeks ago as the orange feathers start the same color as the other feathers...meaning that the orange is above that blue-ish color on the wings...they are doing very well and are very curious and super loving....

Oh they are growing so nicely! Are parrot numbers there in Trinidad really high still? I have many friends from South America, and they do the same thing there. Whether or not I agree with it (which I don't), it still happens. I know these 2 certainly do have a good home with you and will be loved forever.

I feel so jealous seeing those gorgeous little babies you have!!! I can't get over how much they've grown and changed so quickly.

I can't imagine only $55 for such a gorgeous couple of kids. That is just insane!

Hi again Tiffany:) Your babies must be very sweet right now, they are wonderful at that age. I do consider myself really lucky also to be able to have my parrots, but have you ever seen Orange Wings in the wild here in T'dad? It's something pretty amazing. I also know that wild- captured adult birds fare really badly in captivity, babies tend to thrive under the right conditions, though I've seen some under pretty bad conditions. Like you, I can see both sides of it. Anyway, I wanted to share with you my baby Evie. She's four now, but here is a baby pic of her. She's such a mama's girl!

This is her now, totally a movie star in the making.

and also, this is a short clip I had of some Amazons in the wild over Manzanilla in Trinidad.

Look forward to chatting with you. Nice to see another Trini!
Dani and flock!

Your girl seems very sweet....hope mine turn out as nice...right now they are just dears and want to be with me or on me at every minutes...if I put them down on the floor they follow me and climb on my feet to have a seat :) They are just starting to bite down hard and are learning how to climb really well....just very busy guys...only problem that I have is that Mr. Peeps just doesn't want to be fed...he wants to eat for himself, which he does fairly well...while Handsome will eat everytime I feed. Just growing pains(for me cause I can't help but feel that he is starving) I suppose, as he doesn't appear to be losing any weight and is more active than Handsome. Just two different personalities all together. Yes I have been to Blanchessies(killed the spelling on that one) and have seen the wild parrots in action..also been to Manzanilla tons of times and seen them there. Been into the rain forests and seen their nesting sites. I have never heard of anyone keeping an adult wild amazon though....is that something widely practiced?
