Introducing Mija

This is Mija. She is a rescue and my first parrot. I usually rescue tiels. She was supposed to be mean, not like women or kids, attack feet, attack faces. She has got to be the sweetest bird I have. She is even better than my hand raised tiels. She is a lot of fun. If she does not want you to mess with you she growls but if I push it she will just grab my finger and move my hand away. No bites, no pinches just moves my hand. I do not have a parrot cage but do have a big cage for my tiels. So they were moved to smaller cages and she got the big one. Now she is never in the cage. She sleeps on top of it. Right now I would say she is sitting on the couch watching tv. I am at work. But she loves sitting with my wife or grand kids when they are over. She is very pretty. I just got Kiwi last weekend and I'm already in love with her. She is a riot. Her human dad died in January so the family wanted to sell her. Congratulations

Thank you all. She is a lot of fun. She has a couple of problems but nothing major. And for some reason if she does bite it is not that bad. We have a rainbow lory that's bite is 10 times worse.

I also have a red-lored, hes great until he gets hormonal...then watchout!! LOL Very great birds!

Thank you.. We find out more about her every day. She loves to fight with you. She will grab your fingers and hang on and shake her head. But not so hard that you really feel any pressure. I also found out that if you put her on her back in your hand and say 'dead bird' she will play dead. My son is going to have a hard time taking her home. . But she will be close. And I have 3 Conures and a female Eclectus coming. All are not tame so this should be fun for a while.
