Things are going well with Cosmo, our new boy of a week 1/2. I've started working on hand taming now that he's settled in. I did 3 sessions (10 minutes each) yesterday, and he did come out of his cage on the little ramp, and took some yummies from our hands. He's beaked both our hands now, but gently. We did 3 more sessions today, he was a bit more reserved, and didn't really want to do the 3rd session, so I stopped after 4 minutes.

Still showing absolutely no aggression, and being super friendly when no evil "hand monsters" are about.

In this one he's enjoying a bit of garland we made for him by stringing up some Cheerios. (I just noticed you can see bits of his lunch stuck to the bars where he wiped his beak. LOL):

I've always wanted a bird, but never imagined what incredibly fulfilling little people they are. Everyday is filled with wonderful surprises from this precious little guy.

We had a very funny conversation at lunch. He was begging, so he was quite willing to converse with me:

Cosmo: Hey bird.

Me: Hey Cosmo.

Cosmo: Birdie!

Me: Hi Birdie!

Cosmo: Birdie......birdie?

Me: Cosmo, you’re the birdie, I’m not a birdie. I’m a person.

Cosmo: Huh?

Me: I’m not a birdie Cosmo, you’re the birdie.

Cosmo: Birdie?

Me: Yes Cosmo, you are the birdie.

Cosmo: Birdie!

Me: Yes, Cosmo, you’re a funny birdie.

Cosmo: Birdie. (He laughs hysterically)

LOL Very cute!! I would love a BFA, I have a red-lored and a DYH and they are both semi afraid of the hand monsters! LOL

What a cute bird. And the conversation was funny. Ours(my BFA Jezza) usually involve "pretty bird" and "huh" . Our bird is learning the names of the dogs so she calls everyone any dog name. Mostly Merlin hes her favorite. Good luck with those scary hand monsters, they are a big deal around here too.
