Dna testing. You can use feather or blood. Here are the 2 sites I use. They are not expensive($23.00 and $24.50 for feather testing) and are very quick. I got an e-mail the day after they received the package in the mail(I had them sign for delivery). And they also mail out a certificate. I did both just to be safe(both said girl). They will mail you a free kit. The only neg of doing it this way means you have to pull the feathers of a new bird who might not like you yet and now they really dont like you. Or you can do a blood sample but this means you must make your bird bleed(I dont have that much trust in myself). You can try your vet, but mine said it would be $175 and it will take over a week. Hope this helps.

When we had our birds DNA'd, we ordered the collection card from avian biotec and when we took our bird in for their annual exam, asked the vet to do a drop on the card. Most vets do a blood test as part of their annual exam, and will usually not charge for the extra drop on a collection card, which you can then send in yourself. I had a mis-diagnosis with my feather test as the feathers did not have enough substance as she was too close to a molt. The kit is around $25 or less

P.S. I do have a great vet and he's always willing to work with me, and tries to inform me of all the results of their annuals in a way I can understand...I'm spoiled!!!

My vet will also collect extra blood for me. I just already had the feather kit. You can ask your vet to pull the feathers, my did just not enough. The blood kits are under $20 I think, so a little cheaper. Let us know when you find out if it is a boy or a girl. Also a picture is a must. Cant wait to see your new fid. If you cant find an avian vet make sure you find a vet with lots of bird experience. Some vets will do anything for money and have never seen a parrot before. One vet(and the staff) asked what kind of bird I had I said Blue Fronted Amazon, and they said(vet and staff) "wow a blue bird." I said she wasnt blue and they no shoot said "then why is she called a blue front". We never kept that appiontment, needless to say.

Amazon Sexing.

First you teach them to talk - then you just ask them if they're boys or girls.
Sorry, Just being funny.
