Sad Day -- Kind of

The bad thing about running a small rescue is when you find a home for a bird you really love. Mija is going to a new home in about 2 hours. I received a call from a lady who's Yellow Nape died. We were going to keep Mija but as I was talking to the lady I decided to give her Mija. I know she will have a good home. And I know what it is like to loose a bird. So our house is not going to be the same for a while. But another house will be happy again.

Thanks for all you do, Ron. Mija and her new mom are very lucky you came into their lives.

That is a difficult sacrifice but a good one. It couldn't have been an easy decision. You are doing very good work.

Thank you so much. Your replies really help. They came and picked her up. And they looked so happy and she went right to her. Mija stayed on her shoulder all the way to the car and that is where she was going to ride. So all is well. It is kind of different around here. But I have a conure that we picked up last night to work with. So she should keep me busy and keep me from thinking too much about Mija. Again I thank you for your replies.

What you do is a wonderful thing. You give a temporary home to these birds who need love and understanding and then you find them wonderful forever homes. Good for you!!
