New Birdie!

Ok, ok, so I really didn't NEED another bird but when I got a call for an older Amazon, well, need I say more?

We just brought home an older DYH he fell in love with me right away and my other birds are very curious.

YAY! I've always wanted a DYH, or any zon for that matter :-)

Oh my! he is stunning. Do you know how old? pretty mature judging from his full yellow head. Is he tame?

I am judging about 10 years old. A woman got him off CL and emailed me because I was looking for a bird, she only had him one night and said it was NOT working out and they had to find a home for him (yes I know, very short adjustment period but hey - I got a great bird!)
I think I found the link on CL for him, it said he is around 10 years old, he was a breeder but didn't like her female, etc.
He talked right away for me, will step up for me, seems a little shy around other people but likes me.
She said the woman told her his name is Buddy, I already have a Buddy :-)
I'm gonna see if he knows that name or not and might rename him something stunning like himself.
I am very pleased with him. He was telling me hello and waht and kissing at me.

You know what they say about birds picking their owners.

But they lady I got him from gave me a stand for him too, I think maybe he seemed a bit much for them to handle to them. They have 2 Zons now and they are both "tame".

"Buddy" Blue Crown Conure
"Scarlett" S.I. Eclectus
"A.J." S.I. Eclectus (he seems to want to be called Yo-Yo)
"Lilly" Moustached Parakeet
and DYH, name undecided

The renaming thing won't be a big deal. After you call to him using it a couple of times he will understand you mean him and respond accordingly.

I'm not an expert but I don't think they tie up their identities in their names like we do.

Congrats. What a cute guy he is. If you are too worried about the name thing try something that is similiar.......like Sammy. A short name with the E sound at the end. But DH and I call Jezz different names and she responds to them all. Again congrats he is just an amazing looking guy.
