Its a Girl!
My new baby BF amazon is a girl. Just wanted to share the news. My Computer is broken so I wont be on much at all for a few. I will name her "Willow".

Willow is an awesome name for a girl. I wish I could be so creative with names.

What a beautiful name. I don't know whether this is true or not but someone said that Amazons often bond with a person of the opposite sex. Although this might endear her to your husband, which might be useful, is this true? There are a lot of old wives tales out there (no offense to old wives...I just couldn't think of another expression).

I know of two female Amazons that are very bonded to their female owners, even though a husband, also, lives within the household. I also knew of a male Amazon that preferred men because he was raised by a man who gave him a lot of attention, and the wife didn't - so much. He was only three month's old, but preferred men. He came to live with a woman without a spouse, so adjusted after a short time.
Sometimes, I think it depends on the individual bird.

Congrats on finding out that you have a girl. Willow is such a pretty name.
