I did this with a Moluccan cockatoo and a blue front amazon. They liked sleeping together. They came from the same breeder. One of the reasons I got another bird was to give the cockatoo a bird buddy because she really missed the other babies when I brought her home. The blue front "clipped" the wings on the moluccan who just sat there letting her. They were only a couple months apart in age. Sadly, I found out the cockatoo dander was the cause of my health problems so she moved to my parents' house after a year. My two were only in the same cage for 10 months so I don't know how it would have worked long term. I had a cage for each of them but they preferred sharing a cage and like your birds rarely stayed in the cage. Sorry I can't tell you what will happen in the future just be prepared for separating them if you have to and make sure to have multiple food and water bowls in case one doesn't want to share.

Thanks for the input. I already have separate food and water dishes for them and as I said all is going well at the moment. I bought the U2 first and then thought I wanted her to have a cage mate to keep her company and hopefully quiet when they are in their cage. My breeder told me it should work so long as I did it while hey were bot young and not too protective over the cage yet. Again thank you for your help.

I wouldnt personally do it. Both have the potential to hurt one another, and it only takes a split second. The Zon like most Male zons, will become hormonal with age, and you will have problems.

I know that cockatoo dust can kill macaws when they are exposed to it, and I would imagine you would face the same issues housing an amazon with a too. This might be something to discuss with your vet.
