The issue here is that this bird did not get along with you. That does not mean that the bird would not get along with someone else. Birds are funny creatures with big opinions and are not afraid to voice them. i have brought parrots into my home that would not let me come near them or that I sustained pretty sever bites from. Many of these birds turned into entirely new creatures as soon as "their" new owner walked into the room. It is unfair at the very least to say that a bird is mean or hopeless just because it did not fancy you.

I agree with FoxersArtist. Dudley HATED his previous owner and made swiss cheese of him (actual bloody holes... seriously). But he will let me use him as a rolling pin! (this was a new game we did last night. LOL)
Sometimes you just need to be the right person I guess. And you cannot take it personal when you are not!

Just wanted to update you all. I did rehome Jasper, about a week ago. The young guy called a couple of times, and did a lot of research before deciding to come meet Jasper. I really liked him and felt good about it, until I followed him home to transport the cage for him. He is living with his dad for a few more weeks (I'd guess the guy is about 21--but that's just a guess) until he buys his own house. Anyway, dad yelled at the guy when we got there, and it was a very unpleasant scene. By that time the guy had already paid me and we'd taken the cage out of my car, so I didn't feel there was anything I could do other than to ask--you sure about this? He said yes--he was only there for a few more weeks, and that dad would be fine--he was just angry because the guy hadn't cleared the bird w/dad before picking him up. So for a few days I was pretty anxious. The guy called me day before yesterday, though, to give an update. Said he was using heavy gloves to get Jasper out of his cage, but that once out, Jasper would sit on his fingers without trying to bite. Said dad was actually the first to attempt to get Jasper out. So at this point, I'm feeling better, though still a bit worried. I really think the guy's got a good heart, and I know, at least, that he's not going to breed Jasper or just try to sell him for a higher price. At least he's giving it a good go with Jasper, and Jasper seems to like him a whole lot better than he liked me, after only a few days.

I'm glad you were able to find him a home! Hopefully they can keep working with Jasper to the point where they totally trust one another. I'm sure things will get better when the guy moves out. Is this the same person who wanted to buy him for $200?
