Can't get her out

I can't get my 1.5 year old OW out of her cage. I put my hand in and tell her to step and she clamps down. (I haven't gotten to the point where I can just stand there and not react to the bite) If I leave the cage door open eventually she will jump out and walk around. Once she is out, I can walk up to her put my hand down and she steps right up with no bites, she snuggles and I can pet her. I can pick her up from anything, except from out of her cage. Is she just messing with me? Thanks

how long have you had her?

Sounds like she either doesn't want to come out when you are asking her, or she is trying to be the boss.

Zons are notorious for cage aggression ESP females at the right time of year. Will she step up on a stick? If not its time to train her to step up on a stick when she is OUT of the cage for lots of yummies. Once she has it down, use that to get her out and save your fingers. It is common and YES she is testing you and YES it is workingbe caus you are unable to stand the pain and blood (i dont blame you either, i cant). Birds are birds and they can be weird about stuff. Best to ignore it - wait until she is stick trained and go from there. One day she may forget about it but dont count on that to soon and until then work on the "New" trick.

hi i want to say that is normal .the cage is her home .she try to defend it.
why u dont give here more time.and remembere u have to give here more attention ,aftere she will be habituated.
