blue front amazon crying???

Hi! I just got a 5 mos old blue front amazon 2 weeks ago. I am still on the process on getting her to bond with me. She is still shy but would come to preen my very short hair if i am sitting by her cage. She will take food from her dish if I get it in front of her, before I put it in the holder, though with hesitation. She still doesn't want to step up to me unless she is on the floor.

Now after all that, back to my question...........lol. Does your amazon cries when you try to put them back to his/her cage at night? I call it crying because it sounds like a child.....you know, when they don't want to go to bed yet. I am just wondering because my Abby does that all the time.

Thanks
Jun

sounds like he is begging. I don't know what age they should be weened by. Of maybe he just isn't ready to go in his cage yet! Mine is 19 years old so I am not much help.

My male MHRA is 15 and he still cries like a baby when I put him to bed. For him, it's just his way of saying I'm not ready to go to bed yet.

I have a young blue front also and even tho she seems very well adjusted she sounds like she is "crying" allot. Sometimes I notice her doing the same sounds when she is playing happily and no one is around. She "talks" constantly in her little very human like voice. From the Zons I have met it seems quite common for them to make these kinds of sounds. I would only consider it food crying if she is running at you and bobbing her head allot - as a baby would to be fed. Otherwise I bet she just talks allot like mine does, lol. I wish she would learn some human words. I think she knows hello but my grey mimics her voice so well I cannot tell who is saying hello.
