How often do you clip?

**I am aware and respect that some bird owners do not advocate clipping their birds. Please be aware this thread is not about whether to or not clip your birds. Please respect the decision of those that clip their birds as those that don't clip their birds.

I have detected a cycle with Cleo.
She gets her flight feathers back and then becomes demanding and very hard to get along with. This decreases our interaction as it is just totally a horrible experience when she is flighted. She's downright mean and very aggressive.
I have her clipped and she's 100% the OPPOSITE. I had her clipped last week and she sat out on her perch from 10 am until 7 pm last nite without any provacation at all. Even sat with the dog close to her and was perfectly content there. Got scratching a lot...got some snacks. Sang a little for us..no screaming..happy happy bird to be with her flock.
When she is flighted, I can only have her out maybe 15 minutes until she starts screaming at the top of her lungs and just restless and lunging when we walk by or flying off somewhere else. So..she goes back.

So, to be on the preventative side, I plan on having her clipped regularly. BEFORE she might reach these stages.
I understand there are hormones, molting, other things.
But..as a rule of thumb, how often do you have your Amazon clipped? I have let it go too long obviously and it sets her up for failure if her reaction to being flighted is to be this unhappy and aggressive.
She's much happier/content if she's clipped and I want to set her up for success before she sets herself up for failure.

I can't answer your question but I just wanted to say, Cleo is adorable.

Chico usually needs to be clipped about every five months or so. He can get pretty far gliding with his wings only partially grown out. Harley can go a bit longer, sometimes I think that bird is unaware of what his wings are for, lol. He is really good about staying put, and I have yet to see him take off, even if he gets startled while on his playstand.
