Post DYH Amazon in NH

Hi everyone!

I very recently (Saturday) became lucky enough to be chosen to be the new parront of a CAG. The family I adopted her from needs to rehome their birds due to health issues. They had two parrots, the CAG I took & also a female DYH Amazon, named Lucy. I have met her & she is GORGEOUS! She is 15-16 years old and her current parronts would like to rehome her asap. She does have some plucking going on at "the bend of her wings" but only when she is hormonal, as she uses these feathers to "build a nest". Her current dad admits to unknowingly encouraging an inappropriate bond between them and feels at fault for what she is going through. Also, his wife has become allergic to the birds & has some other health issues going on.

Lucy's current parronts have asked for my help, so I told them I'd try here. I do not want to advertise her on craigslist, as they are trusting me to find their girl her new forever home and I would feel more comfortable going to someone here. I promised I would not recommend Lucy be rehomed to anyone I would not rehome one of my own birds to. She would come with her cage, which appears brand new. And she located here, in NH. I do not believe shipping would be an option.

If you are interested, please PM me, asap.

Thanks!

I wish I lived closer. I just love zons. I hope she finds a wonderful home. It's a shame you are unable to take her.

I PM'ed you. If I hadn't PM'ed you and my fiance saw this post he would have drawn and quartered me. :D I too am a little intimidated by zons but we've decided he wants another one so much as long as it's a female I will be ok. I do love the hot three the most (which is probably why I'm a little scared). Or maybe it's that he'll no doubt leave me for a pretty green girl. :D Anyway, good luck in your search and please do consider us, we are about 4 hours away.

Unhappy

Hi. I think I've found Lucy a new home, a great home, though I don't feel as much like celebrating as I thought I would.

I will update when/if I can on her progress.

Thanks.
