Fostering a Mealy Amazon

My husband and I are fostering a Mealy Amazon that we got from an adoption coordinator with Phoenix Landing. JJ has settled in well, she has a cage in our big front window, and has napped and is eating now.
Anyway we are very excited and I hope to be able to post a picture later

Would love to see pics when you get a chance. Gotta love those zons. I've only seen one mealy in person. My goodness that bird was huge. I've never seen another zon close to that size. He looked like he could eat my bfa.

I would love to see a picture of her. Mealys are so gentle, from what I heard, is that true of the one your fostering?

I have an 8 year old mealy amazon named Ben who just adores my husband. We had him for about 2 years and I'm still not able to pet him. The only time I can pick him up is when he flies to the floor. He loves it when my husband pets him or carries him around. He talks a bit, says Ma, I'm a good good bird, hey look at me, hello.

RE: Mealys are huge..

Amazing to see the Mealy compared to the White fronted (spectacled) :)
Did anyone say David and Goliath? :D

It is striking.. The WFA however ranks somewhere between Poicephalus and Pionus in size so..

I have a WFA - she is about the same size as my blue crowned conure but without the really long tail... cool photo.
