Baby Isis Meets Shakti and Dharma!!!!

Baby Isis got the thumbs up from her Doctor yesterday! We moved her apartment into the living room with the rest of the guys.

Last night after they ate their stuff, I put out a large plate and put whole wheat spaghetti and pieces of broccoli.
Shakti and Baby Isis ate together. After a little while they came up to each other and checked each other out. No incidents! I am so proud of them.

Of course my little angel Dharma was making all sorts of noise as she wanted to come out and see what was going on.

Shakti went back to playing on her play stand. (She thinks her little sister is a nuisance).

It was not surprising that Dharma came right up to Isis and started trying to play. Isis just get lifting her leg and pushing her away which Dharma taught was a cool game and just kept on doing fly by's trying to land on Isis. Isis did not mind she just moved.

None of my babies where hostile to each other and it was amazing how well they interacted. I am so very very impressed with them. I am not saying they are best friends, but this is a great start.

Here is a picture of Dharma visiting with Isis this afternoon.

Yes, I have been very very lucky. So far I have not see any jeolousy. I have a routine that I keep and it is like they know that their time is coming. I have very good quality time with each of them and try to involve them in the things we are doing. When I clean house each has its turn on my shoulder. They do not mind the vacuum so that is good. I clean my house with non-toxic stuff so they can hang out.

They each have their day that they take a shower with me so everyone gets a turn!

I could not have asked for better. I do think though that although Isis does not want to hurt my feelings she is bonding a bit with my husband, which is fine as he was the one that really wanted an Amazon! She gives me the evenings so I am happy!

That's how it is with Tiki too, he is my sons by day but wants cuddles from me in the evening. It works out well because I have more time for the others during the day. I prefer the cuddles in the evening any day to the wild naughty behavior by day.

I do feel very lucky to have these 3 girls. I am sure that there will be times when they might not get along, but none of them are vicious. Shakti has been wonderful and very accepting. She was the only baby and then came the other 2 in a short span of time.

The good thing is that because they are 3 different types of parrots their needs are a bit different.

Shakti loves to play with her stuff. All I have to do is put a bowl full of toys and she spends the day taking them out and putting them in. She is very secure and lovable.

Baby Isis like to sit on a perch on the outside of her room with a few toys and some music going. She is still a little shy about things, but she is 1 year old and this is her second home. She has really adjusted to the diet and quite enjoys her food.

Dharma, being a GCC, is the one that is more needy when it comes to attention. She loves to interact with us, but is happy if she can fly from one cage to another. She is a busy body and is in everyone's business. She is the snuggler of the bunch. We compared her to a humming bird as she zooms zooms by!
