I see that coleus is supposed to be safe. It's multi-coloured leaves make me wary. Have any of you actually given it to your birds?

For the flowers is it the pollen as well as the plant itself? I know consuming the plant is bad but if they are outside and out of reach it should be fine right? My neighbor is a BIG gardener. And I know has many of these things in her yard. I only plan on letting my birds out in an outside cage. So was just wondering about pollen.

What about crepe myrtle branches? Can you use them for perches? Just wondering have never heard about them and we have tons in TX. The smooth wood would be great.
