Most of the major chains in my area employ people who know nothing about animal husbandry or training and they are not required to. The water is always on the bottom and dirty, there is always tons of fecal material everywhere, budgies are always over crowded, one or more finches are always flying around, the temperature is drafty and cold in the summer, the lights are on all day and sometimes all night, there is no fresh food ever, very little mental stimulation...
And for the reptiles - Oh goodness.. mites, mites, mites, mites, mites, yuck!!!!!!!!! |
