Oh good golly gravy, why didn't I see this sooner?
Luen will choke down Passwells cockatoo pellets but doesn't seem pleased by them, but I just couldn't find any other alternative! Despite the fact I've heard there's a Roudybush factory here in WA
I will definitely look into those other brands... I'd prefer a happy pink chicken.

Edit: Maybe move a copy of this to the Australia forum as well?

I'll move rather then copy. No one apart from us really cares about this anyway.

Vetafarm have put out a new pellet that I planned on ordering this week for Arthur. I'll let you know how he gets on with them.

I've recently tried Harrison's for my budgie and he goes nuts for them! They have only single distributor bringing them into the country so you might not be able to find them everywhere but i def recommend looking for them. He's eating and pooping much more in the last week then he has for the previous few weeks i've had him.

The only problem I feel with Harrisons (which btw I think is an exceptional product) is that it is imported and being a food good goes through the irradiation process. Hard to know exactly what this process does to the quality of the product in regards to nutritional content. I have used Harrisons before I started questioning all this and thought it was fantastic.

I'm still thinking about switching back to roudybush for feeding. I actually prefer it to the vetafarm. I think with handraising formulas I need to do a bit of a personal experiment with both formulas with same clutch chicks on healh and growth rates then compare a year down the track as well. I could only do that by keeping 2 chicks so I know that the longer term diet is the same.
Hmm....

My thing is if your bird will eat a certain pellet then go with it. I've been lucky that my lot don't really care that much. The only thing they've really turned their beaks up at is tropican but then I know other birds that love it.

Mine would not touch Tropican. They eat Roudybush and Vetafarm.

My green cheek conures hate pellets and won't touch no matter how much converting i try with them. My sun conure on the other hand loves vetafarm pellets and hates seed since i brought him home i haven't seen him touch the seed. I need to get another bag of vetafarm south american mix i only got the 350gram as thats all they had. I was hoping my sun conure would eat seed but so far it looks like his not going too.
