Rosella Quest

We are aquireing a 7 week old eastern rosella under odd circumstances. I am finishing hand feed and the birds almost weaned. But what type of toys do they like? are they big leather and wood chewers like my baby green cheek or are they shine addicts,plastic fantastics and what not just so i can make as many toys and things. Also what are the fav. food of your rosellas as well as good bar spacing for the cage and what pellet do you find works for your bird. the bird ive heard is very friendly and has a nice voice so im excited

Since he/she is being hand fed be sure to work with him/her daily to stay friendly.

My rosellas like boings, atoms, bells. More cockatiel/conure size toys. They love to chew on shredders. I also have the toys that hook onto the side of the cage and pieces move up, down, around and they love that. You could probably try some baby toys too.

my rosellas fovourite activities are shredding paper,stripping bark off branches and giving herself a bath.

Mine loves anything with bells on, and chews wooden toys (and a picture frame hanging on the wall) like there is no tomorrow.
Food wise, loves millet, apple, carrot, brussel sprouts, cabbage leaves and cooked corn on the cob. Hates any red food! Main feed is Pretty Bird small pellets, but always served on top of seed dish, if in food dish on their own he just throws them on the floor. Also loves honey nut bars.
Although mine is not friendly- in fact he is a total coward (except if he gets his hands on a cockatiel then he's a bully). He will run a mile from me, but no aggression. He is a perfect sound copier and loves to whistle and chatter away to himself all day long, very rarely is he very loud.
Oh yes! he only baths in his water bowl- but loves it and gets himself and the surrounding area soaking wet.

mine love the bells with the rawhide . they spend hours chewing on them, my little one even likes to hang upsidedown from the top of the cage & chew.
