Question about barrabands

Since I found here, I've been looking around, following links and trying to learn a bit more about my bird. I've learned for example what he eats in the wild seems to vary from site to site.

My question however relates to the female of his species. On one site while it said cocks were suitable as pets hens were not. Why? What trait makes them unacceptable?

Anyone know?

In my opinion both sexes are just as pet worthy.
While I do not have experience with Superbs I know of people who have had them and they can be tamed.
I think birds if handraised will make wonderful pets no matter what the species and as long as constant love and attention is piled on them.
