Saw a couple of AGP's yesterday
Both of these birds are at one of the local PetsMart stores near me.
The first is this Aussie King. (The price tag on it is $1750.) It's an interesting bird. I didn't get a chance to handle it, but as soon as it saw me looking at it, it climbed down from the tallest perch point in it's enclosure, across the long bar to sit in front of me & stare, call & play with it's toy..... It seemed to want to come see me, but I didn't want to ask for a closer look at it as I had Max with me. (When there are other dogs around, Max can get kinda excited & a frisky Bouvier can be a real handful to control.) The AKP has got a big enough cage area, but judging from the condition of it's plumage especially the tailfeathers, I don't think it has the opportunity to bathe very often (if at all).

Looks like a female to me... less it's very young.... can't say I've seen such an orange king parrot before though! Most photos I've seen, they are a crimson red...

The second bird is this cute POW (Princess Of Wales).
It's only the second one I've seen. I love the softer almost pastel colors, (the light blue on the forehead isn't the easiest to see though). Very pretty bird!

I saw that first one in the Febuary issue of Bird Talk and was wondering what it was. Thanks for clearing that up.

Jim, Princess Parrots are not only beautiful but they are full of personality. They are confident, cheeky birds and defintely know who's the boss! I have two of them and they are a constant joy to me, I can't imagine life without them! You should come to Australia sometime to see the birds here!

Tiki, I absolutely LOVE that photo of Manikay! I have to agree: POWs are really lovely birds. They have such a pleasant chattering voice, too!
