Scarlet Breasted will not sit on her eggs

I placed the nest box on the cage and Kenya went wild, jumping in and out of it, arranging the bedding in it and dancing around Kiwi, she was ready for a family. Well I know they are mating, witnessed it a few times, when i peeked in the box today I saw 2 eggs that were at the entrance of the box and kenya was as far away from them in the box as she could get. She did this with her last (first clutch) and just wondering if there was something i could do to help her understand eggs are meant to be sat on.

any suggestions as to what i can do if any would be appreciated.

Some birds will not set until the entire clutch is laid. This ensures the babies hatch close together. I have a few pairs of Parrotlets that wont start setting until most of them are laid. Not to worry yet, they wont "die".

As long as the incubation process hasn't started, stopped, started the eggs will survive for a good week before they start to die.
Has she laid any more eggs?

She has a total of five now, im not sure if she is sitting on all of them or not. When i peek she is on 2 of them in the corner and the other 3 are in the center of the box.

Well Kenya is sitting on 3 eggs and the other two are just out in the cold. Oh well, anyway i have a new issue with this laying. I have my scarlet pair and my rosie bourke pair in the same large flight cage. The male scarlet and male rosie are both feeding kenya(female scarlet) without incident. However i have noticed that Kiwi(male scarlet) is hostle toward my female rosie. I may have to remove the rosie girl if this continues. My question is should i also remove the rosie boy with her when and if i have too??????

I personally would remove them both and let the parents do what they need to do without the stress of another pair. I have a pair of each of these too. Does your male scarlet vibrate his wings???

i have never witnessed him doing so, however i have read several places that is a sign of breeding behavior. I am going to move some things around this weekend and plan on moving the bourkes. I am so hoping to have a couple of scarlet chicks. I also want some rosie chicks but he doesn't seem the least bit interested in her. oh well, i just love them and if they never breed thats ok too.

Yes my male rosie is young and has no idea what to do. He sits patiently outside the nestbox like a good daddy should but the eggs are always clear. My Scarlet hen and her mate are both young. She chases him and he runs but I witnessed him doing the wing vibrating thing the other day. I plan to keep a male handfed chick for myself eventually - they are stunning birds!
