At long last I have managed to get a reasonable picture of Ollie

love him. rosellas are prolly one of my favorite parrots. do you have any pics of him flying?

Not yet! it's taken me long enough to get him to sit still long enough to grab the photo I have just taken. I will try and get one

Ollie is such a good looking bird! I'm having a problem with seeing an Eastern Rosella at the Petsmart where I buy food all the time. He or she has been there for at least two months. It makes me so sad to see him sitting there all alone in the glass cage. I talk to him every time, but he half heartedly turns to see me. He looks very depressed. I want to get him out of there, but I don't want to help the birdie mills to profit. I also have no business getting another bird. He makes me want him though, and seeing your beautiful Ollie makes it even harder.

Ollie, is a gorgeous bird! He's just getting his adult plumage which convinces me the he is a "he". I have found that he is far better off in a cage on his own, he occassionally mixes with the tiels but he tends to be a bully. To my mind he is intelligent, loves playing, and whistles and chatters all day long but not at a volume that is annoying, he is very entertaining to watch. He is not yet hand tame, he tends to back off when approached but I keep trying, he comes out for a fly but always goes back in to his cage (in his own time) I would not be without him (nor any of my fids).

I was tempted to get a Rosella myself but all my birds live together in an indoor aviary and my AV told me that Rosellas don't mix well with Tiels. I would really love to have one though, they are so beautiful and very cheap in Australia but rarely sold as handreared pets.
