Go to visual wings online as she is an expert known around the world on this type of parakeet.

mystery bird

I am guessing it is in this

Regent Parrot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pics are of females (green) but the male is yellow.

The Rosellas all look like a special edition budgie or cockatiel deluxe to me! (They all have that special pattern on their backs that gives them a sort of camouflage when they are flying in a group that confuses predator birds).

Most of the Western Australia birds seem to have those shiny dark eyes. Must be specialized for the habitat (bright sunlight?)

Grass Parakeet

I was going to suggest that you go to the following website for some clarification: Visual Wings - Welcome , but I see someone has already suggested that. I have purchased four Bourke Parakeets from them over the years. You can see one pair of Bourke's below.

I would guess that the bird pictured is a type of Rosella (possibly a yellow mutation of a Stanley), but it is hard to say from that angle. With all the new colour mutations in the different grass parakeet breeds, it is tough to say as well.

Good Luck
Bri

If it IS a Regents Parrot it would have an orange beak. If it were a yellow Rosella it would have a biege beak. Both look very similar but the Regents is usually more brightly colored than the Rosella and the regents usually have dark talefeathers and primary wing feathers. If this one is young it may not have it's mature coloring yet.
