then gives them away or just forgets them after the novelty wears off and moves on to the next cool thing he finds
I don't even know how to respond to someone like that. What goes through my mind is better left unsaid.

yeah that sort of behavior is just needlessly cruel, plain and simple. Have you tried talking with him about how he's caring for his animals? I don't know the guy so hard to say if it would make any difference or not, but it just seems like some body really needs to bring the issue up.

It is good that the female rosella is doing better.
Don't bother trying to tame a rosella, unless she was handraised and the interaction kept up you won't succeed.

it wouldnt make any difference,he's convinced that he is really great with animals and that its the pet stores fault when something dies shortly after he gets it.

Maybe a visit from Ireland's equivalent of animal control should pay him a visit. They can tell him what the penalties for animal cruelty can be....

You and I think alike...Before I met my husband if my BF didn't like the birds they were out of there. John didn't grow up with animals so the birds were all new to him. I knew he was the one when my B&G Riley (she passed away three years ago) climbed down from her tree put her beak to his nose and said hello. She had never done that before. Granted several years later when we were living together he walked past her cage one day and she called him a looser and than laughed. Needless to say we've been married 3 years and together for 7...

I'm glad the female is going well, what a shame about the others :( Ireland has the RSPCA does it not? Is he some kind of hoarder? They can't tell that all the animals they get are being neglected. You really need to do something about it :( Please.
