Question Rosella, Barraband or Rock Pebbler?

Hi!

I am generally a budgie and cockatiel owner (photos below).

I've been considering acquiring a new bird of a different breed.
I haven't got that mcuh room so I can only get 1 single bird.. or a pair.
Having had NO experience I was wondering if there is any particular preference between Rosellas, Barrabands and rock pebblers.
I simply can't decide.
Please help me choose!

Which are easier to tame or have better temprements?
Any information or help or advise is much appreciated.

Thank you!

I have Golden Mantle Rosellas in my aviary, and they are very beautiful birds. However, they are rather known for not being the best of pets. They tend to not remain very tame if they are not handled very, very frequently.

Good Luck!

Here's a pic of some of mine:

i agree with the above.

rosellas: Rosellas are flighty birds, when kept in a cage, and even when they have been handraised some still flutter around, banging around the place. They are pretty poor talkers as well. They are also agressive and should not be kept without a mate.

Rock pebblers/regents: Better than rosellas but still not the right petbird mateirial. If handraised can be very loving and tame. bTalking ability is yet again poor.

Barraband/ superbs: Probably about te same as regents. But yet a bit more flighty and nervous.

Princess are the same as regents in companian bird ability.

but out of the above i reccomend the princess or the regent parrot.
But i really dont think the above make great pets. Quakers are something different and fit very well into the position of companian.

hope this helps
Zac,

Thanks everyone! That is a lot of information and all so helpful. You don't know how grateful I am! I know noone locally with any of these birds so I can't ask for advice.
Thanks!
Anymore help is much appreciated but I may have specific questions if anyone can help at some point. But look out because I'll pop them on here at some point.

THANK YOU!!!

well its really a matter of what you are looking for,i went with the princess because i could not get a rock pebbler and i was looking for a hangout friendly but non snuggly species(i have a wc pionus who wants attention often enough)so i wanted a different relationship with the next bird,i would have loved to get a blue quaker the only problem is hubby and i want to move to Pennsylvania in a few years and that's one of the state's it's illegal to own quakers

Exclamation

Thanks! well I am able to get all of these species but I'm hoping for a bird that is tame-able. I have a lot of time and I want to dedicate my spare time to bird training. I'm not sure if there is any preference with these species. Any advise is wanted!!

Thanks

well my princess is a hand fed but from what i understand out of the polytelis group the easiest to work with would be the princess followed by the rock pebbler,i would not suggest the barrabands and i will tell you my story,i got a supposedly male hand fed barraband shipped from a breeder in florida, well lucky i used my charge card they are holding the charge at this time, what i got was a terrified young bird that at this time is around 6-7 months old and still not singing so im pretty darn sure that its a female not a male(they say females do not make a good pet)the breeder did not have the bird sexed and it has no band on its leg, though i do have some bird experience i can tell you this bird is young but thats it
