Apparently she is needy and constantly calling. She wants to be "on" her owner at all times. Unusual for a bourke but.......... has laid eggs. Does anybody have Bourkes in Trios or do I need to be hunting for another male before they go into the Aviary???

That does seem strange. If she was a breeder in the past then she probably is looking for a mate. However, if she was hand fed and never mated I probably wouldn't be too concerned with it. We have more females to males in our aviary. Guess you'll have to make that call when you get her and see how she fits in with your others.

trios can work, just watch the hens for aggression to each other but you should be right.

Normal. I have a pair of roseys. I picked her up tonight. Oh gosh, the woman loved her but didnt have allot of time at home. the little girl was in this tiny cage for two years. Its clean, has toys and stuff but gosh so small for a bird like this who NEEDS to have room to scratch around on the floor and fly. She had the grate in as well. The cage is probably 15X15X15?? I dunno, we got in and I put her way back in our bathroom under the skylight for QT. She will have to stay in that cage for another 30 days or so. Her last bird died of egg binding. She had just come home from the bird fair with another budgie to keep her budgie company since this bird was leaving. (they are untame) and so its QT for sure for little "polly" in her wee little cage. GRASS KEETS NEED to be in flight cages with no grate. Geesh......heavy heavy sigh.

Awww, well at least she will have the life she finally deserves with you! Our aviary birds LOVE to scratch around on the bottom. However, I keep a grate in our flight cages because the youngins are so susceptible to bacteria. I will put a paper towel down on one side though so they can pick at things easily. Get your camera :D
