Does anyone know of a good breeder

of Australian Scarlet Chested grasskeets in Conneticut or Massachusetts area?

I have a guy interested in mine, but he does not want them until June when he moves around that area. I told him that I would see if there is any breeder around there that maybe he could get them from there without having to hold for that long and ship.

TIA!

I don't know if he is interested in shipping but you can have him check out singing wings aviary in AR. Singing Wings Aviary
If he is ever in Texas we would be more than happy to sell him a scarlet! :D

In Rhode Island there is a breeder. The breeder is listed on Bird Breeders. Here is the hyperlink: BirdBreeders.com :: Chopmist Hill Aviary - Chopmist Hill Road, North Scituate, RI 02857 . They have a good rating.

Have you ever seen a red bellied Scarlet? I am curious for my female has red on her abdomen and upper legs and her babies are getting LOTS of red on their abdomens! I wrote a breeder and he said that she may be a red bellied and the babies are getting her coloring as well.

What do you think? She does not have a lot of red on her belly, but she is just a year and a half and I have read that they can continue to get more red for up to three years.

Do you know anything about this?

Thanks much!

I have heard of that but don't have any experience with it. We have a red rump female that has a touch of red on her rump even though they technically aren't supposed to. I'm betting it's a similar situation with scarlet's. She must be passing on this unique gene to her young!
