Meet Polly

Yes, I didnt name her. This is the Bourke Hen I rescued back on bird fair day last Sunday. YES, she needs her nails done and this is the crowded little cage she has been in for two years. I have since removed the grate for her as she could not move on it and Bourkes really like to scuttle around on the ground. I took out that big perch thingy and she seems to really be happier she can flutter down and scratch in her dish. She will come out of that little cage soon as QT is up.

Oh and as I picked her up there was a box on the counter with a new budgie she had just bought. Dang it. Polly wasnt good enough? Was she just to boring? She said the constant calling was driving her nuts?

What a sweet little Bourkes... I always preferred the original to the rosies... Even if the rosies look like tiny Luens! lol
Their call more annoying than a budgie? As if! Gosh some people are ignorant. At least little Polly's gone somewhere nice, ne? :}

She is very cute! I have 2 rosey bourkes and while I think they are pretty, I do like the normals too. Polly is very lucky! I love how my bourkes sound! I think they sound really pretty.

What a beauty! I was going to get a few normals at the last birdmart since all I have are rosies and cinnamon's. I really like the look of the wild type. Of all the birds, I think the call of the bourke is the sweetest. There is no accounting for taste is there? lol
