Unhappy I am SO TOTALLY BUMMED!

I just don't know what to do now... all three of the rock pebblers are FEMALE.
I realize everyone is going to say it shouldn't matter... blah blah blah, however, I've always been attracted to the males' coloring & in all the research I've done, I've found it stated that the males make better pets.

The breeder has given me the following options...

-To take one of these current females
-To refund my total deposit
-To take a male that is 1yr old, however "needs work" (has lost his tameness-this guy would be @ a lower price)
-To WAIT. She's got another pair that has just laid it's first egg... she's expecting 3-5 in the clutch & she'll lay every other day... 28 days for them to hatch, then we wait until they are feathered to send the dna test out again & wait to see what we've got.

I am so lost at this point. I've got a lot of thinking to do.

I would wait if you could. I personally am more excited and closer to the things or animals I want. I love them all but when it is something I truely wanted, I felt more of a bond. (If that makes sense.) But tough decision there, please let us know what you decide.

I am so sorry to hear this. You were so looking forward to a male. If new eggs were just layed it may be worth waiting for. I have not researched rock pebblers but clearly you have. If your research says that males make better pets for some reason then maybe you should wait. Again, I am so sorry.

Matt

i agree with everyone else...there should be the bond where you can't wait to get him! That's what I'm waiting for...I'm looking for a cockatiel.

You've waited this long, a few more months to get what you really want will be worth it.

If you've got your heart set on a baby boy then I think just wait.

I say get the older male. If he never tames up you still have the sweet baby females. His only job will to be to look good.
