Experienced Opinions, please!

Ok... I would like the opinion of just about any and all who know anything about "re-taming" a bird after it has lost it's tameness due to lack of handling.

Male Rock Pebbler, hatched late summer of 08. Was hand-fed, weaned, and has had no handling since about a month after weaning. What are the chances & how difficult would it be to tame this little fellow up again?

Thanks to all.

It can happen. Is there a way for you to meet the bird? You might get a better idea from seeing and handling him. Some birds can't wait to be handled others never quite get used to it. I think that it has a lot to do with how the bird was treated when it was handled. Just my opinion.

It can be done. I suggest wing clipping at first. I have a splendid hen that I never handle but she was hand fed and although she runs from my hand she will come up and "kiss" me thru the bars. Patience and clipping. Why my recued grey is being handled now - I took two years but it worked. All my budgies as a child were tamed and they were bought wild child from Kmart and such - heck, no one ever told me it wasnt possible so I didnt know, lol. They went all over the place with me on my shoulders, lol.
